C. BUD ATKINSON

Bud has over 40 years experience in broaching and is one of the most veteran engineers still active in the broaching industry.

Prior to joining the BMS team in 1986, Bud spent 18 years at General Broach where he learned, "hands-on" how to design and manufacture broach cutting tools, fixtures and machines.

In his 40 years in the industry, Bud has played a role in the design and build of literally thousands of turnkey broaching systems including all types of traditional applications, as well as blind spline systems and pot broaches. In Mr. Atkinson's tenure with BMS, the company has shipped approximately 1,500 broaching systems. Bud was a contributor to the design of the first new machine ever built by BMS and since then he has weighed in on the design of every new broaching machine developed by BMS, which includes our 8 standard lines as well as the many special machines we have developed for unique broaching applications.

Bud's lengthy and varied experience in the design of broach cutting tools has resulted in a unique ability for troubleshooting tool design and part finish issues. With a short study of a tool and part print, Bud can quickly propose solutions to improve both part quality and tool life.

Bud is and integral member of the BMS project management team and his attention to detail help BMS to consistently meet its' goals of delivering, "On Time, On Budget and On Objectives."
