Mechanical Designer

BMS Team Member Since: 2011
In Broaching Industry Since: 2001
Certificates Received: Baker College, Bachelor of Industrial Technology
Awards Received: State of Michigan ACAD Competition Champion 2001, 2002

Andy cut his teeth in engineering by designing robots that competed in state competitions in 2000, 2001 and 2002. He also spent time custom building computers that allowed them to run the latest 3D design software and he is proficient in numerous CAD softwares including ACAD 10, 12 and 14 as well as versions 2000-2012, Inventor 2008-2012, SolidWorks and Unigraphics.

Andy spent his first 10 years in the broaching industry learning the craft from a legend of broach engineering, Jim Fish of Total Design. While at Total Design, along with fellow BMS team member, his brother Eric, Andy participated in the design of machines and tooling systems for nearly every broach company in America.

In tandem with, his brother Eric, Andy makes up half of a “dynamic duo” of broaching machine designers and detailers whose speed and accuracy are destined to become legendary in their own right.

Andy’s extensive experience with computers and ACAD systems helps to keep the BMS design team current with the latest in hardware and software developments. We look forward to his youthful energy being a driving force behind the future growth and innovation of BMS designs.
